We started to list some of the shows in the museums around the world for those renowned fashion designers and artists and we hope that they can add to your highlights if you happened to have travel to one of those countries.
We reported global fashion exhibitions covered countries like, the US, China, Vietnam, UK, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, Germany and Copenhagen.
For the first six months of the year, we have listed 37 fashion exhibitions covering areas of fashion in womenswear and menswear, children’s wear, sportswear, footwear, swimwear, outdoor sports, textile fabrics, laces, embroidery, appliqués, trims and elastics, shoe materials and leather.
Important shows like the Fashion Week in the fashion capitals, such as Paris, New York, London and Milan, Première Vision, Magic shows, InterTextile and ISPO. Many of these shows have accompanied us throughout our career. One thing that is worth mentioning is the International Lingerie Exhibition & Interfillière Paris, better known as the Salon Internationale de la Lingerie, Paris, is celebrating its 60th anniversary. This is the best show for our industry and it was in the beginning of the 1990s it took over the Igedo in Dusseldorf.
Opening Remark

Start Museum, Pradasphere II

Pradasphere II is a free show showing the history of the fashion house, Prada, from its beginning in 1913 to the present day.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Women Dressing Women
Venue: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City
Duration: December 7, 2023 – March 3, 2024
This shows the creative legacy of over 70 female fashion designers from the Met. It is ranging from the early 20th century to today. It included works from Jeanne Lanvin, Elsa Schiaparelli, Rei Kawakubo and many others.
The Jewish Museum, Mood of the Moment: Gaby Aghion and the House of Chloé
Venue: The Jewish Museum, New York
Duration: October 13, 2023 – February 18, 2024
It shows the sketches and documents from the Chloé archive, alongside with 150 designs in its 70-year history. It also includes the works from its creative directors, including Martine Sitbon, Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo and others.
LACMA, Woven Histories: Textiles & Modern Abstraction
Venue: Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles
Duration: September 17, 2023 – January 21, 2024
In this exhibition, it shows how abstract art and fashion have intertwined throughout the history with an emphasis on woven textiles and craftmanship. It shows 150 pieces of works by artists across the world.
Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses
Venue: Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris
Duration: November 29, 2023 – April 28, 2024
The exhibition of Iris van Herpen showed the traditional couture craftsmanship and innovative techniques blended with ideas. It forms the relationship to clothing and environment.
Art Institute of Chicago, Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan
Venue: Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago
Duration: December 16, 2023 – June 3, 2024
It shows the work from 36 contemporary women artists from Japan with over 40 pieces of ceramic work from 1970 until now,
Victoria and Albert Museum, Gabrielle Chanel, Fashion Manifesto
Venue: Albert Museum, London
Duration: Exhibition closes February 25, 2024
Gabrielle Chanel’s work in on exhibition in the UK for the first time. It shows the beginning of Chanel as a fashion house and the evolution of Chanel’s design style. 200 pieces follows the course of her lengthy career.
Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech, Yves Saint Laurent: Line and Expression
Venue: Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech, Morocco
Duration: Permanent display
It is a permanent show to honor the legacy of Yves Saint Laurent. It is also featuring a rotating collection of the museum’s archives. It shows the designer’s work concerning Marrakech and Morocco.
Museum of Fashion and Lace, Diane von Fürstenberg: Woman Before Fashion
Venue: Museum of Fashion & Lace in Brussels, Belgium
Duration: April 21, 2023 – January 7, 2024
The show has dedicated an exhibition with over 50 models to Diane von Füstenberg, the celebrated designer.
Museo Ferragamo, Salvatore Ferragamo, 1898-1960
Venue: Museo Ferragamo in Florence, Italy
Duration: October 27, 2023 – November 4, 2024
This museum in Florence is exhibiting Salvatore Ferragamo’s work and his legacy.
Armani/Silos, Aldo Fallai for Giorgio Armani, 1977-2021
Venue: Armani/Silos, Milan, Italy
Duration: December 5, 2023 – August 11, 2024
This exhibits a collection of photographs between fashion designer Giorgio Amani and photographer Aldo Fallai. It is showing over 250 photos through the collective aesthetic development between the two artists.

This show takes place twice a year in January and September and it is the most important textile fair in UK with more than 500 exhibitors offering fashion fabrics, clothing accessories, prints and vintage garments. It is also an important show in Europe. It attracts the most influential buyers and designs from the major high-street retail stores as well as independent designers and buyers from their contract manufacturers.

It is organized by the Boston Show Travelers Association which was founded in Boston in 1901, BSTA is the oldest regional show travelers association in the United States. It sponsors three trade shows a year in the Northeast of the U.S. for shoe retailers, show casing the latest merchandise in all categories for upcoming season. The show carries 250 sales representatives and over 600 show and accessory brands.

Intimate Apparel Market Week

There are four market weeks throughout the year. The Underfashion Club is a non-profit organization supporting the intimate apparel industry. It develops partnership at both the high school and college levels to provide financial supports for students who are interested in pursuing a career in intimate apparel. It provides scholarships, internships, awards and grants. The organization is raising funds through its annual Underfashion Club and Femmy Gala evening. Vietnam is the world’s third largest textile exporting country and this event will mark a significant milestone for Vietnam.
This fair is organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and Messe Frankfurt.
Vietnam is member of ASEAN, and have entered into cooperation agreements with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) and 15 free trade agreements (FTAs) covering 60 countries and regions.
Vietnam’s technical textiles reached $676.6 million for the first nine months of 2022. Its apparel-related products reached $29.1 billion in the same period.
