The Formation of the
IAJ Team

service with passion

IAJ has expanded our service to the fashion industry and no longer restricted only to the intimates. Thanks to the evolution of fashion industry that took away the veil that used to wrap our industry and blocked the view for those who were trying to look from the outside. And during Madonna’s Blond Ambition World Tour in 1990, she was wearing the costume created by Jean Paul Gautier, which was actually a body. Since then the innerwear can be worn as the outerwear and it is becoming the wearer’s preference.

In our time, we made many friends in the industry and we have reestablished our relationship after we left our manufacturing career behind. Instead, we moved on to education and the publication work. The Intimate Apparel Journal was the product, which we changed the name to International Apparel Journal, although we enjoyed being called as iApparel Journal.

“Our team are coming from fashion business, designers, educators. We expanded our service to the fashion industry without restricting ourselves only to the intimates. Since we established the journal in 2014, we have successfully decoded the mystery of intimate apparel and moved forward to swimwear, activewear, homewear, and more casual attires.”

Welcome to the iApparel Journal created to serve our fashion industry. The main focus of this journal is to provide information on market intelligence, fashion and design, technical and knowledge, market report, and supply chain.

Our mission statement: To make the IAJ an invaluable tool for the fashion industry for learning, training, sharing, and assisting one another.

IAJ is a quarterly journal, but today the world has been changing so quickly, we feel that we cannot standalone without publishing anything because the news may turn stale too soon. We have decided to release new articles every week and to compile the articles on the quarterly basis.

Preface will remaining unchanged for the moment, perhaps we can add one area known as “useful knowledge”.

Mimi Sia

Co-Founder
Webmaster

Mimi Sia was the Co-founder of the ACE Style Intimate Apparel Group, which at its prime time was engaging 8,000 staff and workers only producing for the upmarket for those brands, and retailers who were more dedicated to quality, value, environmental awareness and sustainability.

In 1996, she arrived in New York and founded the design studio and later created the marketing branding tool known as “Studio 183” and launched it. It became the success and the collection came in twice a year with four different themes.

Later, she created the “Fashion Sports” and it was the predecessor of the active-sports, then the athleisure. She was ahead of the game.

In 2019 July, she took over the role as the Webmaster and redevelops the journal to the modern look of today. There will still be rooms for improvement and in this respect she is still spending the effort to make it as the tool for those who are in the fashion industry.
