Terri is featuring the Burlington Stores and the Bon-Ton Stores. There are winners and losers, unfortunately she has to report the failure of the Bon-Ton Stores. It has always been tough out there and change of the management has always been to find the capable executives that can help to turn the stores around.
Terri rightly pointed out that the success of the stores is depending on premium locations, but today it can’t afford higher rent. Currently the tension of the geopolitical situation is disrupting supply chain and over reliance of a certain region of the world would endanger one’s profitability.
Demand of fresh goods with innovation is important and to keep the stock level to meet the demand is something that everyone is struggling to achieve. Unfortunately, it is not only the demand, but also, we would need to watch the weather situation which is becoming unpredictable.
Last and not the least, it is good to hear that Burlington is well-positioned for sustainable growth in a forever changing retail environment. If Burlington can strengthen its online business, it would be a big help for the company to go forward.
“Close to home store,” serving the Northeast, Midwest, and Great Plains regions, which is the make up of 38% of the total U.S. population. It is a very important market.
