Child’s Play

This “kid core aesthetic” trend draws inspiration from the nostalgia of childhood. Pastel colors are combined in plaid and checkered patterns. Kitschy prints are inspired by nursery rhymes and 90’s cartoon characters. Plastic charms and beads in pastel colors add a nostalgic touch. Embroidered hearts, stars & toy animal patches are sewn onto triangle bralettes and bikinis. Underwired bras have a vintage vibe combined with sex appeal.
This cute nostalgic trend adds a dose of fun to lingerie design.

Crochet

With so many learning to crochet during the pandemic, it is no surprise to see this trend showing up on runways, like Alberta Ferretti. Meant-to-be-seen bra tops in crochet or embroidery have boho girl vibes and are the perfect look for summer. Rich texture adds surface interest to
lace and embroidery. Open-work lace and guipure embroidery are dyed in black, white,
or rich earthy tones including terracotta and beige.

Leading Lines

Luxury and utility combine in this trend to create futuristic, subversive basics. Boning and visible seams create architectural lines on sheer tulle or geometric lace dyed in black or in a monochromatic color. Styles include corsets, merrywidows, bustiers and bras with
boning or visible seams. This trend appeared on the runways of
Nensi Dojaka and Matthew Williams for Givenchy.

Highlighter Markers

Saturated luminous colors dominated the runways of McQueen, Versace, and Dolce and Gabbana. Rich satin fabrics are dyed in extravagant hues of highlighter markers, such as yellow, lime, neon blue, shocking pink, and purple. These colors pop when combined with a neutral, skin-tone lace trim. The silhouettes and color pallette are reminiscent of the ultra-luxe extravagance
of Miami in the 1980’s and 90’s. Styles include triangles and string bikinis.
Retro bras and high-waist briefs are updated in bright highlighter marker colors.
