SPRING / SUMMER 2022
TRENDS REPORT

Vintage Lace
This bohemian trend draws inspiration from vintage lace techniques, such as, bobbin lace, needlepoint lace, and Brussels lace. Patchwork lace was seen on the runways of Christian Dior and Isabel Marant, while Fendi showed cotton bastiste embroidered grounds inspired by Valenciennes hankerchiefs. Think beautiful intricate, delicate cotton lace and embroidery in a monochrome palette for Spring 2022 lingerie.
Pressed Flowers
Boho girl vibes continue in this botanical retro trend. Ubiquitous floral prints draw inspiration from fields of wild flowers, watercolor florals, and floral photography (digital prints). Ditsy floral prints are trending among the “Cottagecore” girls. Fresh flowers and nature appear in textured multicoloured embroideries. Lace follage in a grass green palette inspire spring botanical style.
Chalked Pastels
Sorbet-inspired colors continue to dominate, and they suit a wide range of skin tones. Designers (see Versace) are using matte fabrics in cotton candy pastel colors in an update of this 90’s trend. Lingerie designer, Dora Larson, elevates the aesthetic of her designs by combining pastel tones. Create delectable sugar confections for Spring 2022 in optimistic colors: lavender, yellow, powdery blue, pink and turquoise.
Metallic Muse
This space-age style rebirth begins with materials that are innovative in both appearance and performance. Color changing pigments of holographic colors add a modern and futuristic touch. A hologram is a photograph of light that is scattered from an object and displayed in a three-dimensional way; these can be integrated into digital print design. Foil-effect fabrics have a shimmering, fluid-like effect, and iridescent threads are used in embroidery designs. This future fitness trend in fashion combines fashion with utility and function, such as, quick drying fabric.
Optimistic Pink
The random color that is literally everywhere right now is ideal for Spring 2022 lingerie. This pink palette ranges from blush to shocking pink, with bubblegum standing out as the most important shade this season. This color is a departure from neutrals and adds a dose of fun to lingerie design. Fashion is reflecting a feeling of optimism for the future.
